Broad Spectrum CBD Oil

All products at CBD Puroil are made from broad-spectrum CBD that's been lab-tested to 0% THC levels, making it 100% UK legal.

Broad-spectrum CBD is CBD that has been extracted from the cannabis plant with all of the other compounds from the plant except for THC. That means it contains terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids from the plant but is perfectly safe to use by people sensitive to THC as well as professional athletes undergoing rigorous tests. Broad-spectrum CBD also provides the entourage effect, due to the other terpenes included from the hemp plant.

Flavoured Broad Spectrum CBD Oil

CBD products often have a strong grassy taste that some people find off-putting, but we sell flavoured, broad-spectrum CBD oil so that you can get the positive effects of CBD oil without having to endure a taste you don’t care for.

You can shop all flavoured CBD oil here.

High Strength Broad Spectrum CBD Oil

We also sell high strength, broad-spectrum CBD oil for those who know their regular dose but wish to take it in fewer drops, using a lower volume of carrier oil.  More mg of CBD in a given amount of carrier oil means the same dose, but with less volume.

Always be careful to use prescription and/or nonprescription CBD products according to directions, and consult your doctor if you suffer from any serious ailments or symptoms that may be affected. The high-strength range from CBD Puroil is the 2000mg 20% CBD oil and the 1000mg 10% CBD oil.

What is Broad Spectrum CBD?

A broad-spectrum CBD extract (such as CBD oils or CBD tinctures) is a form of cannabidiol (CBD). Broad-spectrum CBD oils differ from the other two forms of cannabidiol (full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate) in that it contains a range of naturally occurring compounds, without significant amounts of THC. These compounds can include terpenes, such as myrcene, limonene, and pinene - which produce the entourage effect.

CBD can be extracted from the cannabis plant in a number of ways, including steam distillation, solvent extraction, lipid extraction, and carbon dioxide extraction. The composition of the CBD is affected by the strain of the cannabis plant used as the source, the classification of the plant, and the extraction process.

Broad Spectrum vs Full Spectrum CBD

The difference between these two designations is that full-spectrum CBD oil contains several naturally occurring extracts (like terpenes and other cannabinoids), including up to 0.3% THC. Full-spectrum CBD is therefore not legal in the UK unless it has been certified at 0% THC.

Broad-spectrum CBD, by comparison, contains several cannabis plant compounds, just like full-spectrum, but should have no significant amounts of THC. This is where the certificate of testing is important; make sure the product you buy is legal in the place you buy, use, or transport it.

The third type of CBD is CDB isolate. It is called ‘isolate’ because it contains no other cannabis plant compounds, just the CBD.

A note of caution though, ‘CBD’ is not a well-regulated term. Some manufacturers, sellers, and others may use the terms interchangeably or inaccurately, either on purpose or sometimes to misinform the buyer. Make sure you read labels carefully and use a trusted source.

Is Broad Spectrum CBD Legal in the UK?

This varies by country, and even state laws within the USA differ, but CBD is completely legal in the UK provided it has been derived from an industrial hemp strain that is EU-approved. Brexit may affect this in time, but the UK rules are not likely to vary much from the EU ones even if the wording of the guideline changes. In short, it cannot contain even trace amounts of THC (the compound that gives the feeling of being ‘high’).
