Why CBD Puroil?
CBD Puroil products are extracted from the leaves of legal, high-quality industrial hemp plants, to create broad-spectrum CBD (cannabidiol) that contains multiple cannabinoids, but without any THC. THC is the compound found in marijuana cannabis plants that can cause a ‘high,’ and it is this substance that drug tests look for. We use independent, trusted laboratories to test our products to ensure accurate CBD and THC amounts in our extracts (stated on the pack) and 0% THC. This means that all of our CBD Puroil products are safe and legal, and will not trigger a false positive on drug use tests if used as directed.
We even provide the test certificates for each batch (downloadable from each product page), so you can buy and use these products with confidence.
What's the best strength of CBD?
This is a complicated question and can cause some anxiety, because each person is a bit different. People seem to metabolise all supplements, including CBD oil, at different rates, body sizes are different, reactions to CBD oil vary, and what people want and expect from using it is different too. Maybe you're fighting depression, or maybe you're hoping to decrease acute inflammation and hope for some relief through CBD oil use. For these reasons, it is always best to start low, and go slow.
Start with a small dose, and use it for a week, paying careful attention to any effects. If you notice good results right away, you know you’ll only need a little. If you don’t, then increase the amount you use and wait another week, again paying close attention to how you feel. As a rule of thumb, only use as much as you need to gain the benefit you want from it. Make sure you are using enough, but more is not always better.
Perhaps the best way to take CBD oil is to place a few drops under your tongue, and then wait one or two minutes before swallowing, to give it time to absorb into your system straight from your mouth. As mentioned above, gradually increase your dose until you get the desired effect – but spread the doses out through the day and don’t exceed the manufacturer’s recommended maximum daily dose.
Note that High Strength CBD oil contains a concentration of 10-20% CBD oil, more than twice the concentration of most non-high strength CBD oil products. For this reason, High Strength CBD oil is popular with experienced users who have already determined their usual dose and simply want to make taking it easier, and more cost-effective by lowering the volume of the carrier oil without sacrificing the potency.
Newer users might be turned off by the fact that high strength CBD oil usually has a stronger grassy taste. There is less of it, but it can taste quite strong. If you don’t mind, or are used to the taste, that’s no problem, but if it really bothers you, there is a solution, choose a flavoured option on the CBD Puroil product pages.
Does High Strength CBD oil get you high?
No. CBD oil extracted from industrial hemp will not get you high. These plants contain only trace amounts of THC, the chemical that induces the high. It therefore will not get you high, and if used as directed will not trigger a drug test (these look for significant amounts of THC in the bloodstream or urine).
Make sure that the CBD oil you buy is tested by a trusted, independent lab, and that the levels of CBD and THC (this may be 0%) are listed on that package or downloadable as a certificate.
Maximum UK Daily Dose for CBD
This varies by country and by the individual who is taking the product, but in the UK, the FSA recommends CBD intake of less than 70mg per day.
Also, do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended intake.
How to Take High Strength CBD Oil
Since CBD oil affects each person differently, a small amount might be enough for one person, but not affect another person at all. Since no one wants to take too much of it, but taking too little isn’t harmful, we recommend starting with a modest dose, then increasing it if you do not feel the desired result within a week of use. This means that those needing a smaller dose will feel the effect right away and will not need to increase the dose, but those who need a stronger dose will need two or more weeks to zero in on the correct amount to be taking.
It is important to understand that CBD is a biphasic substance. ‘Biphasic’ means that it can have different effects depending on how much is used. Another common biphasic substance, with which you are likely familiar, is alcohol. If you consume a little of it, it may have no effect. Some more, and you may feel happy and outgoing. More, and you might become anxious, aggressive, or ill. The same substance, in different amounts, can have different effects. Likewise, different people react differently to a given amount. So why is this important?
If you are in the stage of increasing your CBD dosage, and you notice a change in the effect compared with a smaller dose, you may be taking too much. In such cases REDUCING your intake of CBD oil may actually increase the desired effect of it, and should remove the unwanted one.
The best method to take CBD oil – the way to get the best absorption – is to take the oil or CBD tincture and place the dose under your tongue. They can be absorbed directly from there. Try not to swallow for a minute or two after placing them there, and the CBD dose should be in. Then you can rinse your mouth with water and swallow it to take in any residue left for the stomach to absorb more slowly.
Tip: Follow your dose with a bit of food that contains a little bit of fat – like oil or butter – and you will increase the body’s ability to access the CBD oil (this is called the ‘bioavailability’).
